About

I teach in the areas of clinical practice and social welfare policy. My practice interests span both large and micro systems and include contemporary social group work, disaster prevention and response, LGBT youth and adults, narrative and constructivist practice modalities, qualitative and participant-based research, spiritual and insight-focused practice, and the effect of the internet on human behavior and emerging notions about relationships and community. I earned my baccalaureate in Early Childhood Education from The University of South Carolina at Spartanburg, my MSW from San Francisco State University, and my doctorate in social work from Barry University. My practice experience has included work in child development and welfare, hospital and community based health care, psychiatric and mental health, employee assistance programming, hospice and grief care, community organizing. Currently I maintain a private clinical practice where I provide clinical supervison and specialize in work with children, adolescents, and families.
